is a bird.

DO YOU REALLY EXPECT US TO BELIEVE THAT?

I mean, sure, it looks like he has a beak here

BUT HE’S SAYING “BOOM.”

Who wrote this?

I just assumed he was another fluffy alien species like the hillbilly fluff creatures, and whatever species Wander is. Kinda like how there are lots of different species of pig aliens in the show.

No…. He’s Oscar….. He lives In a trash can

Nah, he’s Bendy from Foster’s Home For Imaginary Fiends.

There’s a lot happening here. When Wander pulls her reins to stop her from hurting them, her immediate reaction is to turn around a growl at him. It’s actually to his advantage that he’s not bothered by getting so close to her in that dangerous state because she ends up eye to eye with him and she defuses instantly. It happens before she even has time to think about it. Even when she’s completely out of her right mind she can do him no harm. The part of her that loves him must be deeper than her instinct to fight if her body immediately reacts to his face against hers with “That’s Wander. I don’t hurt him. I protect him.”

And it shows how much Wander cares for her too, that he is so not bothered by all this. We know Sylvia has anger issues. It’s how she handles stress, highlighted in particular in The Hat when she kept pulling calming items out of Wander’s hat in a time of duress and Wander jokingly states “It gives you what you need. And right now it thinks you need to calm down.” But this is different. The anger churned up from competition is more wild and dangerous. She actively tries to hurt people. And it’s so opposite what Wander believes in you would think he would have a moment of “This isn’t the Sylvia I know.” But that never happens. It IS the Sylvia he knows and he’s fine with this unpleasant aspect of her. He knows what calms her down normally and because they’re so close it works here as well. She wasn’t mad at the way he became manic and possessive in The Box. She took him very seriously and focused on helping him instead of judging his actions or whether his feelings were valid enough to worry over or if he was being just plain ridiculous. And that’s what he does for her here. It’s fitting to the theme of the show that their relationship relies heavily on how they help each other. Don’t you think?
